3,000kms into Outback Queensland's far western reaches. From the little village of Augathella to the celebrated town of Longreach, we've looped through outback Queensland's central-west, skirted up the closed border with South Australia and skimmed across the most easterly stretches of the Strezlecki & Stony Deserts. For the first time in a long, long while, it felt good to get some big miles in and stretch the Landcruiser's legs with a mammoth few weeks in the outback. We came within touching distance of fond memories at Cameron Corner and bid farewell to Birdsville, for now. On the other side of the closed border, lay a whole host of overland desert adventures for another day. For now, we'll continue north.
