Where it all began. Re-building the Troopy, packing up & leaving home for a trip that's been four years in the making. The plan was simple: live out of the Troopy and swing ‘a lap’ of Australia, before shipping abroad for the next chapter. Running right up until the early hours of the day of departure, the final door was closed, the house was left behind and the adventure had begun.

From the Bay of Fires, we wound our way south to make a start on our bucket list of hikes on camps on Tasmania’s east coast. Scamander Reserve, Apsley Gorge, Mt. Amos in Freycinet National Park and Cape Hauy on the Tasman Peninsula all made for one incredible week of adventures and tired feet.

Bruny Island has been on the wishlist for years. From the Tasman Peninsula, we headed up through Hobart to catch the ferry and explore. Bruny Island isn't a big place, and it doesn't take long for us to wander off the beaten path and find a quiet corner to enjoy the views...and the wind.
