This trip has been months in planning! The anticipation and nervousness to just get going was brutal! But with the vehicles ready to rock and roll, all that was left now was to find out about the border crossings from Johan Groenewald (Tracks4Africa) and then go and get those pesky tests done so we could happily cross the border. But things didnt go to plan, my dads results didnt come through in time; but we pressed on anyways. Hopefully the results would arrive before we got to the border. We would cross the Northwest, and enter the Northerncape where we'd be camping at the Kalahari Monate campsite for the night as a stop over to the border. Our nerves now settling, all that was left to do was have a good nights rest and then cross the border the next morning! After Making our way through the Nakop/Ariamsvlei border, finding some fresh meat and vegetables was our priority before making our way to the Hobas Campsite at the Fish River Canyon; where we just had to have sundowners at the largest canyon in africa while the sunset over the horizon!
